Got Dry Hands?
Is it just me or do we all have DRY HANDS with all of this handwashing and sanitizing? My hands have been so dry that my iPad doesn’t recognize my thumbprint! Here are some things I have found that help.
- Wash your hands with a moisturizing hand soap or even a body wash- they tend to be more moisturizing. I found a Whole Foods Body Wash with Argan Oil and it doesn’t dry my hands out as much as some hand soaps do. It is a huge bottle and smells amazing! I also like the Tom’s Prebiotic Hand Soap also not as drying as other hand soaps. Look for brands that have the term moisturizing or look for moisturizing ingredients like glycerine, shea, coconut or aloe.
- Even with these great hand soaps, hand lotion is a must!! I have been enjoying the Kiehl’s Ultimate Strength Hand Salve and Aveda’s Hand Relief. Both absorb into your skin quite fast and they are not excessively greasy. At night I have been adding some drops of body oil to my hand lotion. Just a plain oil like Jojoba, Coconut or Almond will do.
- If you are using Hand Sanitizer frequently, I really suggest looking for a less drying formula. Look for the addition of moisturizing ingredients like Aloe Vera and/or Glycerine. These are my faves Desert Supreme Hand Sanitizer (full disclosure, this is my other brand) and Everyone Hand Sanitizer.
